Polyester Strings

Polyester strings have become an increasingly popular choice among players after being popularised by professionals who use them to increase the durability of their stringbed while maintaining a high levels of control. They also excel in terms of tension retention.

The Luxilon Big Banger Original was among the earliest polyester strings adopted by professionals, though now the most popular choices are Rafa Nadal's RPM Blast as well as the Luxilon Alu Power which is used by countless players on tour.

Over the years polyester strings have become more and more comfortable, though players who prefer the feel of other strings go for a hybrid setup which includes a polyester string. For example, Roger Federer combines Natural Gut strings with the Luxilon Alu Power Rough, giving him his optimal balance of durability, control and spin.
